bristle bots
April 2012 – In a swarm, the behaviour of a single entity does not predict the behaviour of the swarm as a whole. The swarm is an organism in itself. This project aims at using this principle as a design strategy. Using toothbrushes, batteries, UV-LED lights and mobile phone-vibrators, a small swarm of bristle robots was created. This swarm was let loose on a printing screen, exposing the emulsion on it to UV-light and so drawing a picture of itself. In collaboration with Plaatsmaken (printing) .
